SUPREME COURT OF NEW ZEALAND.
WESTLAND DISTRICT.
NOTICE is hereby given that a Sitting
of the Hokitika Circuit Court for the
dispatch of Criminal and Civil Business will
be held at the Supreme Court House, Hokitika, on Thursday, the tenth instant, at ten
o’clock in the forenoon, at which time and
place all persons under recognizances, or
VICTORIA, by the Grace of God, of the
United Kingdom of Great Britain and
Ireland, Queen.
To George Preshaw, Manager of the
Bank of New South Wales, at Hokitika,
and as Manager, Greeting:
Whereas an action is now pending in our
Supreme Court at New Zealand, in the
Westland District, between John Barrett, of
Hokitika, in the District aforesaid, Hotel-
keeper, plaintiff, and John Mehan, of Bri-
bane, in the Colony of Queensland, Miner,
defendant. And in order that the plaintiff
may proceed in the said action, we command
that you retain and keep all and singular the
monies and chattels, bills, bonds, and other
securities, and other property of whatever
nature in the custody or under your control
at the time of the service of this writ belong-
ing to the above named John Mehan, or to
or in which such defendant shall be legally
or equitably entitled or otherwise beneficially
interested. And we command you that you
and each of you in your own proper person
be and appear before such Judge of our said
Supreme Court as shall be Sitting in Cham-
bers, at Hokitika aforesaid, on Tuesday, the
eighth day of September next, at ten o’clock
in the forenoon, and then and there to be ex-
amined touching the premises, and to do and
receive what shall then and there be con-
sidered of you in that behalf, and this you
shall in nowise omit.

of New Zealand, this eighth day of
August, 1868.
