UNDER the provisions of Clause XII. of the Gold Fields Act, I hereby grant to James Ralph and Party a special claim of five acres on Commissioner’s Flat, Kaniere, subject to the following conditions:—

The sluicing claims on the Kaniere Terrace are not in any way to be interfered with.

The surface of the Camp Reserve not to be interfered with.

All drives under the Camp Reserve to be properly and securely timbered.

Eight men to be constantly employed on the claim.

The Road on the East side of the Camp Reserve not to be interfered with.

UNDER the provisions of Clause XII. of The Gold Fields Act, 1866,* I hereby grant to the “Victorian Co-operative Gold Mining Company” a special claim of twelve acres three roods and twenty perches, in lieu of that of eleven acres granted to the said Company on the 4th November, 1867, subject to the following conditions, in addition to those already mentioned:—

Fifty-nine men to be employed on the claim instead of fifty.

The surface of the Camp Reserve not to be interfered with.
-
Blocks of solid ground to be left underneath all buildings on the Camp Reserve.

THE following tenders for supplies to the Hospital, Hokitika, have been accepted for the four months commencing 1st September, 1868:—
I. ALFRED CLEVE—GROCERIES.
Tea, first-class, 2s. 9d. per lb.; second-class, 2s. 6d. per lb. Sugar, Victorian second white, 6d. per lb.; Mauritius white, 6d. per lb.; yellow crystal, 5¼d. per lb. Coffee, full weight, fresh roasted and ground, 1s. 6d. per lb. Flour, Adelaide, 12s. per 50 lbs; colonial, 15s. per 50 lbs. Rice, Carolina, 7d. per lb.; Java, 5d. per lb.; Patna, 4d. per lb. Arrowroot, best West India, 1s. per lb. Sago, pearl, 6d. per lb. Pearl barley, 4½d. per lb. Oatmeal, fresh, 4¼d. per lb. Potatoes, 1d. per lb. Butter, first-class, 1s. 4d. per lb. Biscuits, from 4d. to 1s. 3d. per lb. Soap, Hobson’s Bay, 40s. per cwt. Soda, crystal, 3d. per lb. Kerosene oil, Do Vol, Cossens’, or Downer’s, 3s. 6d. per gallon. Candles, full weight, 1s. 8d. per lb. Vestas, Bell & Black’s, 3s. per dozen. Salt, fine, 2d. per lb.; coarse, 2d. per lb.
