Ward No. 2.
Bounded towards the north-east by the north-east side of a public road known as Gillett’s Line, and by the production of the same to the Rangitikei River; towards the south-east by Ward No. 1, and by a public road running through section No. 99, township of Sandon; towards the south by sections Nos. 98, 101, 111, and 112, and by the southern boundary of the Mingiroa Native Reserve; and towards the west by the Rangitikei River.
Ward No. 3.
Bounded towards the north and north-east by the boundary of the Manchester Block; towards the south-east by a line bearing 34° degrees magnetic from the north corner of Ward No. 1 to the north-east boundary of the Manchester Block; towards the south-west by Ward No. 2; and towards the west and north-west by the Rangitikei River.
Ward No. 4.
Bounded towards the north-east by the boundary of the Manchester Block; towards the south-east by the Oroua River; towards the south-west by Ward No. 1; and towards the north-west by Ward No. 3.
Ward No. 5.
Bounded towards the north-east by the boundary of the Manchester Block; towards the east by a line running north magnetic from the western corner of section No. 413, township of Palmerston, to the north-east boundary of the Manchester Block; towards the south-west by the line of railway; and towards the north-west by the Oroua River.
Ward No. 6.
Bounded towards the north-east, south-east, and south-west by the boundaries of the Manchester Highway District; and towards the west by Ward No. 5.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
Wards in Manawatu Highway District.
Ward No. 1.
Bounded towards the north by the Rangitikei River, and by a line east magnetic from the source of the said river to the summit of the Ruahine Range; towards the east and south-east by the summit of the Ruahine Range, by the northern boundary of Ward No. 6, and by the Oroua River; towards the south by the northern boundary of the township of Carnarvon; and towards the west by the Rangitikei River, excepting always that part of the Manchester Highway District which lies within the above boundaries, and which district is defined in the schedule to a Proclamation by his Honor the Superintendent, bearing date the 25th day of February, 1876.
Ward No. 2.
The boundaries of this Ward are the same as those of the Township of Carnarvon, which are as follows:—
Commencing at Pakenahau, where the northern boundary of the block purchased from the Natives, and called the Awahou Block, leaves the Manawatu River, and following the said boundary to Pukehinau and Omara Papaku and onwards to the sea coast; thence by the sea coast in a northerly direction to the mouth of the Rangitikei River; thence along the left bank of that river to the intersection of the southern boundary of the Mangamahoi Native Reserve; thence along said southern boundary to its south-east corner; thence along its eastern boundary to a point opposite the south side line of a public road bounding the Hutt Small Farm Block; thence south-easterly across a public road and along the south side line of the public road aforesaid to a point opposite the south-eastern boundary of the Hutt Small Farm Block; thence north-easterly across the said public road and along the south-eastern boundary of the Hutt Small Farm Block until it intersects the main road line from Palmerston to Wanganui; thence along the south side of the said main road line to the Oroua River; thence along the right bank of the said river to its junction with the Manawatu River; thence along the right bank of the Manawatu River to the starting point at Pakenahau.
Ward No. 3.
The boundaries of this Ward are the same as those of the Township of Foxton, which are as follows:—
Commencing at Pakenahau, where the northern boundary of the block purchased from the Natives, and called the Awahou Block, leaves the Manawatu River, and following the said boundary to Pukehinau and Omara Papaku and onwards to the sea coast; thence by the sea coast in a southerly direction to the mouth of the Manawatu River; thence along the northern bank of the River Manawatu to the starting point at Pakenahau, excepting always the Foxton Local Board District, the boundaries of which are defined in a Proclamation by his Honor the Superintendent, bearing date the 13th day of August, 1873.
Ward No. 4.
Bounded towards the north-east by lines so as to include sections 374, 373, 372, 371, 370, 317, 316, 290, 289, and 288, Township of Palmerston, by a line from the south-east corner of section number 421 to the south-east corner of section number 447, by the same line produced to the Oroua River; by the Manawatu River; by the Kahuterawa Stream, and by a line bearing east magnetic from the source of...
