Proclamation.
By His Honor William Fitzherbert,
Esquire, C.M.G., Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in the Colony of New Zealand.
WHEREAS by "The Highways Act, 1874," section 16, it was enacted that all moneys or properties which at the time of the passing of the said Act should be in the possession or control of any person or persons who was or were or might have been acting in the capacity of Secretary or Treasurer to or in any other capacity in the service of the Board of Wardens or Highway Board constituted or elected under the provisions of an Act of the Superintendent and Provincial Council formerly in force, and called "The District Highways Act, 1867," hereinafter called the original Act, and which were or was in the possession and control of such person or persons, by virtue of his or their having been acting in any such capacity as aforesaid, and which do belong to or ought to be paid over to any Highway Board constituted under the original Act, or "The Highways Act, 1874," should go and belong to and vest in such Highway Board as the Superintendent may by order in writing direct or appoint: Now, therefore, I, William Fitzherbert, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, do hereby order, direct, and appoint that all the moneys or property which at the time of the passing of "The Highways Act, 1874," was in the possession or control of George Maunder, of Rangitikei, who acted in the capacity of Treasurer to and in the service of the Upper Rangitikei Highway Board, constituted under the provisions of the said Act of the Superintendent and Provincial Council, formerly in force, and called "The District Highways Act, 1867," and which are or is in the possession or control of the said George Maunder by virtue of his having been acting in such capacity as aforesaid, and which do belong to or ought to be paid over to the Rangitikei Highway Board, constituted under "The Highways Act, 1871," as amended by "The Highways Act, 1871, Amendment Act, 1873," or the Rangitikei Highway Board constituted under "The Highways Act, 1874," shall go and belong to and vest in the Highway Board for the District of Rangitikei, called "The Rangitikei Highway Board," constituted and incorporated under "The Highways Act, 1874."

WHEREAS, in pursuance of the 18th section of "The Highways Act, 1874," I have been called upon by the Rangitikei Highway Board to exercise the powers vested in me under the 14th, 15th, and 16th sections of "The Highways Act, 1874," and I have this day, by order under my hand, directed and appointed that all the moneys or property which at the time of the passing of "The Highways Act, 1874," were or was in the possession of George Maunder, of Rangitikei, who acted in the capacity of Treasurer to and in the service of the Upper Rangitikei Highway Board, constituted under the provisions of an Act of the Superintendent and Provincial Council formerly in force, and called "The District Highways Act, 1867," and which are or is in the possession or control of the said George Maunder, by virtue of his having been acting in such capacity as aforesaid, and which do belong to or ought to be paid over to the Rangitikei Highway Board, constituted under "The Highways Act, 1871," as amended by "The Highways Act, 1871, Amendment Act, 1873," or to the Rangitikei Highway Board constituted under "The Highways Act, 1874," should go and belong to and vest in the Highway Board for the District of Rangitikei, called "The Rangitikei Highway Board," constituted and incorporated under "The Highways Act, 1874." Now therefore, I, William Fitzherbert, C.M.G., Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, do hereby require, order, direct, and appoint that George Maunder, of Rangitikei, shall produce and exhibit to me within the period of twenty-one (21) days from the date of this order all books of account, rate books, papers, documents, or other property which belong or heretofore belonged to the Upper Rangitikei Highway Board constituted under "The District Highways Act, 1867," or to the Rangitikei Highway Board constituted under "The Highways Act, 1871," as amended by "The Highways Act, 1871, Amendment Act, 1873," or under "The Highways Act, 1874," or shall furnish to me within the said period of twenty-one (21) days from the date of this order a true and accurate account in writing of all such books of account, rate books, papers, documents, or other property.
