NOTICE is hereby given that there will be offered for sale by Public Auction, at the Crown Lands Office, Provincial Government Buildings, Wellington, on Tuesday, 21st September, at 12 o’clock Noon, the following valuable lands, viz.:
TOWNSHIP OF PALMERSTON.
Town Section No. 601, containing 3 roods 16 perches. Upset price, £25.
TOWN OF WANGANUI.
Valuable Town Section in St. Hill-street; ¼ acre. Upset price, £60.
TUKAPU DISTRICT.
1 Rural Section; contents, 114 acres. Upset price, £57.
HOROKIWI ROAD DISTRICT.
4 Sections, ranging from 89 to 148 acres each. Upset prices, £44 to £74 each.
HUTT DISTRICT—COUNTRY BETWEEN MUNGAROA AND WAIKANAE.
58 Sections, making an aggregate of about 11,000 acres, varying in size from 15¼ to 228 acres each. Upset price, 10s. per acre.
These last named sections consist chiefly of good timbered land, the greater portion of the bush, including some patches of totara, being well adapted for sawing purposes. The land undulates into hills and valleys, and there are several small flats with excellent soil, in the vicinity of the river.
The deviation of the West Coast road line, for which a sum of £4,400 has been voted by the Provincial Council, will open up this land. In anticipation of the construction of this road, for which the bush is now being fallen, a bridle track will be formed at once. This land will acquire a high value when the road line in question has been completed.
Lithographed maps of the 58 sections on the deviation of West Coast road line, showing their numbers, contents, &c.; also Gazettes, with schedule of prices, can be obtained at the Crown Lands Office, Provincial Government Buildings. Gazettes will also be supplied by the following agents:
- H. I. JONES, Wanganui.
- G. M. SNELSON, Palmerston.
- CHARLES HARRIS, Criterion Hotel, Upper Hutt.
JOS. G. HOLDSWORTH,
Commissioner of Crown Lands.
