Borough of Wanganui.
Bye-Law No. 8.
BYE LAW of the Council of the Borough of Wanganui, made under special order of the said Council dated the third day of March, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five, confirmed the fifth day of April one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five, and sealed with the common seal of the said Borough this fifth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.
In pursuance of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1867, and the Wanganui Bridge and Wharf Act, 1872, the Council of the Borough of Wanganui ordain as follows. That is to say—
On and after the first day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five, the following tolls shall be payable at the Wanganui bridge in lieu of those now payable in respect of the same, foot passengers, animals and vehicles, and as regards vehicles whether such vehicles shall be loaded or unloaded.
Section I.
For every two wheeled vehicle, with s. d.
or without springs, drawn by
one horse ................................ 1 0
For every additional horse .......... 0 6
For every four wheeled vehicle,
with springs drawn by one
horse ....................................... 1 6
For every additional horse .......... 0 6
For every saddle horse ............... 0 6
For every timber wain, drawn by
two horses ............................... 2 0
For every additional horse .......... 0 6
For every four wheeled vehicle,
without springs drawn by two
horses ....................................... 2 0
For every additional horse .......... 0 6
Provided that no tolls shall be taken on such vehicles or animals, as shall re-pass the same day, reckoning from midnight to midnight.
Section II.
For every other horse, not in s. d.
harness, and head of “cattle” ........ 0 3
For every other small cattle ........ 0 ½
For every foot passenger ............. 0 1

Bye-Law No. 9.
BYE LAW of the Council of the Borough of Wanganui made under special order of the said Council, dated the third day of March, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five, confirmed the fifth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.
In pursuance of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1867, and the Wanganui Bridge and Wharf Act, 1872, the Council of the Borough of Wanganui ordain as follows. That is to say—

On and after the first day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five, a toll of sixpence (6d.) shall be payable for every bale of wool in lieu of the toll now payable in respect thereof by section number fifteen (15) of bye-law number five (5).

On and after the said first day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five, there shall be payable a toll of sixpence (6d.) for every half ton, or less than half a ton of all other articles, not specially provided for by the said Bye-law No. 5 (five).
