Proclamation.

By His Honor William Fitzherbert,
Esquire, C.M.G., Superintendent
of the Province of Wellington, in the Colony of New
Zealand.

WHEREAS by "The Diseased Sheep
Act, 1872," of the Provincial
Council of Wellington, it is enacted that
the Superintendent may, with the advice
and consent of his Executive Council for
the time being, by proclamation, divide the
Province into such number of Districts as
he may therein prefer, and in like manner
from time to time subdivide, alter, unite,
or re-unite the same or any part thereof.

Now, therefore, I, William Fitzherbert,
C.M.G., Superintendent of the Province of
Wellington, by virtue of the power and
authority vested in me in that behalf, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the portion of the Province of Wellington now
known as the Wanganui Sheep Inspector’s
District, shall be divided into two separate
Districts by the Wanganui River, and that
the portion to the north of the Wanganui
River shall be called the District of Wanganui North, and the portion to the south
of the Wanganui River shall be called the
District of Wanganui South.

Wellington, this eighth day of
January, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-four.

Warrant.

UNDER the provisions of "The Diseased
Sheep Act, 1872," of the Provincial
Council of Wellington, I, William Fitzherbert, C.M.G., do hereby appoint

JOSEPH WILLIAM JORDAN

to be the Registrar of Sheep Brands for the
District of Wanganui North, and for the
District of Wanganui South.

Given under my hand, at Wellington,
this 8th January, 1874.

Warrant.

WHEREAS it has been notified to me,
under the hand of the Chairman
of the Wangaehu Highway Board, that the
seat of Mr. William Hutchison at the
said Board has become vacant under the
provisions of the fifteenth section of "The
Highways Act, 1871," by reason of his
having resigned the said seat. Now, therefore, I, William Fitzherbert,
C.M.G., Superintendent of the Province of
Wellington, do hereby appoint that for Ward
No. 7 of the Wangaehu Highway District
the voters qualified to vote for the election
of a Warden in such Ward shall meet at
the Schoolhouse, Matarawa, No. 2 Line,
on Monday, the twenty-third day of
February, 1874, at twelve o’clock noon,
for the purpose of electing a Warden for
such Ward, and I do hereby appoint Henry
Clyland Field to be presiding officer at
the said meeting as aforesaid.

Given under my hand, at Wellington,
in the Province of Wellington,
this thirty-first day of January,
one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-four.

Notice.

HIS Honor the Superintendent has
appointed a meeting for the Election
of Warden for Ward No. 7 of the Wangaehu
Highway District to be held at the Matarawa
Schoolhouse, No. 2 Line, on Monday,
the 23rd day of February, 1874, at twelve
o’clock noon.

Henry Clyland Field has been appointed
presiding officer for such meeting as aforesaid.
