Highway Construction Order.

THE following Resolution has been forwarded by the Masterton Highway Board:

"The Board having considered the objections against the construction of the road from the Taueru River to Wainuioru, hereby order the construction of the said road in accordance with the plan as advertised for inspection."

Under the provisions of the thirty-third clause of "The Highways Boards Empowering Act, 1871," I, William Fitzherbert, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, do hereby appoint that the objections referred to in the above resolution shall be heard at the Superintendent’s Offices, in the buildings belonging to the Provincial Government, on the Reclaimed Land, in the City of Wellington, on Tuesday, the 26th day of May, 1874, at 2 o’clock p.m.

Given under my hand, at Wellington, this 11th day of May, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.

Proclamation.

By His Honor William Fitzherbert, Esquire, C.M.G., Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in the Colony of New Zealand.

I, WILLIAM FITZHERBERT, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in the Colony of New Zealand, by virtue of the powers conferred upon me by the tenth section of "The Protection of Animals Act, 1873," do hereby proclaim and declare that it shall be lawful for any person duly licensed under the said Act to hunt, shoot, take, or kill game within the Province of Wellington, between the tenth day of May and the tenth day of July in each and every year, both inclusive. And I do further proclaim and declare, by virtue of the power conferred upon me by the fourteenth section of the said Protection of Animals Act, that game shall not be hunted, shot, taken, or killed in any part of the said Province of Wellington south of the Rangitikei River.

Given under my hand and issued under the public seal of the Province of Wellington, at Wellington, this 4th day of May, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

Pheasants, Quail, Antelope,
Partridges, Snipe, Deer
Grouse, Plover, (imported),
Black Game, Swans, Wild Duck
Ptarmigan, Hares, of any species

HIS Honor the Superintendent has fixed the sum of Thirty Shillings as the amount payable for licenses to shoot game issued under "The Protection of Animals Act, 1873."
