Proclamation.

By His Honor William Fitzherbert, Esquire, C.M.G., Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in the Colony of New Zealand,

WHEREAS the Toll Gate mentioned in the Schedule hereunder written has been erected, and a keeper thereof has been duly appointed for the collection of Tolls under the provisions of an Act of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Wellington, made and passed in the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one, intituled “The Toll Gates Act 1871,” and of an Act of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Wellington, made and passed in the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two, intituled “An Act to amend the Acts of the Superintendent and Provincial Council relating to Toll Gates,” or under the provisions of one of the said Acts respectively.

And whereas it is expedient that Tolls should be levied at the said Toll Gate on and after the day hereinafter mentioned.

Now, therefore, I, the said William Fitzherbert, by virtue of the powers vested in me under the said Acts or any one of them in that behalf do hereby proclaim and declare that Tolls shall be levied at the Toll Gate mentioned in the Schedule hereunder written on and after this twenty-ninth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.

Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Wellington, at Wellington, this twenty-ninth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.

INFORMATION has been received at this Office, under the hand of William Everett, the presiding officer, that Mr. Henry Yeames Witshaw has been duly elected a Warden for Ward No. 5 of the Castle Point Highway District.
