Warrant.
WHEREAS it has been notified to me
under the hand of the Chairman
of the Manawatu Highway District
Board, that the seat of Mr. J. A. Perrean,
at the said Board has become vacant
under the provisions of the fifteenth
Clause of “The Highways Act 1871,”
by reason of his having failed to attend
five consecutive meetings of the Board.
Now, therefore I, William Fitzherbert,
Superintendent of the Province of Wel-
lington, do hereby appoint for Ward No.
3, of the Manawatu Highway District,
the voters qualified to vote for the elec-
tion of a Warden in such Ward, shall
meet at the Court House, Foxton, on
Thursday, the 13th day of November
next, at 12 o’clock noon, for the purpose
of electing a Warden for such Ward.
And I do hereby appoint Thomas
Uppadine Cook, to be Presiding Officer
at the said meeting as aforesaid.

ton, in the Province of
Wellington, this seventeenth day of October,
one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-three.

o’clock noon.

pointed Presiding Officer for such meeting
as aforesaid.

the first meeting of the Kaiwarra Local
Board, shall take place on Monday, the
27th day of October, 1873, at the school
house, Kaiwarra, at 7.30 p.m.

Highway Construction Orders.
THE following resolutions have been
forwarded by the Wanganui and
Waitotara Highway Board:—
“ The Board having considered the
several objections urged against the
proposed alternative line, connecting the
end of the Kai Iwi road with the sea
beach, near the mouth of the Mawhanau
stream, hereby order the said line to be
constructed according to the plan and
section prepared by their Engineer.”
“ The Board having considered the
several objections and suggestions laid
before them, respecting the proposed
‘Waitotara Road,’ hereby order the
same to be constructed according to the
plan and section prepared by the
Engineer, except that such alterations
shall be made at the bend of the line at
Mr. Moore Hunter’s southern boundary,
as to meet the objection urged by
that gentleman.”
Under the provisions of the thirty-third
clause of ‘The Highway Board Em-
powering Act, 1871,’ I, William Fitz-
herbert, Superintendent of the Province
of Wellington, do hereby appoint that the
objections referred to in the above resolutions,
shall be heard at the Superintendent’s Office, in the buildings belonging
to the Provincial Government, on the
Reclaimed Land, in the City of Wel-
lington, on Wednesday, the nineteenth day
of November, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-three, at twelve o’clock noon.

this 17th day of October,

Wanganui-Waitotara Highway Board.
PLAN, Section and Specification of a
proposed line of Road from the
Brunswick Road, near Woodleigh Farm,
to the South-eastern boundary of the land
occupied by Mr. W. Watt, together with a
list of the owners, lessees, and occupiers of
the lands intersected by such roads, are
now lying for public inspection at the
office of the above Board, Taupo Quay,
Wanganui; and any persons desirous of
making any objection or suggestion relative
to such road must do so in writing, ad-
dressed to the Board, within forty days.
