Proclamation.

By His Honor WILLIAM FITZHERBERT, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in the Colony of New Zealand.

WHEREAS by the “Protection of Animals Act 1867,” it is enacted that the Governor may, by Order in Council published in the New Zealand Gazette, delegate to the Superintendent of any Province, all or any of the powers by the said Act vested in the Governor, or the Governor in Council, subject to such regulations as he may think fit, and may from time to time rescind such delegations:

And whereas an Order in Council dated the eleventh day of May, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the first day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one, His Excellency the Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, did delegate unto William Fitzherbert, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, so long as he shall continue and remain Superintendent of the said Province, all the powers vested by the said Act, in the Governor or the Governor in Council, to be exercised only in respect of the said Province.

Now therefore I, William Fitzherbert, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in exercise of the power and authority so vested in me by the above recited Order in Council, do hereby proclaim and declare that “The Protection of Animals Act, 1867” shall come into force in the Province of Wellington, on and from the first day of August, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

Given under my hand and issued under the public seal of the Province of Wellington, at Wellington, this fourth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

License to kill wild unbranded Cattle.

BY virtue of the power vested in me by Clause 7, of the Act of the Provincial Council of Wellington, Session No. 18, I hereby authorise JOHN CHEN, of Spring Vale Station, near Moroa, East Wairarapa, Stock Owner, to kill any Cattle, the property of the Government of the Province.

Given under my hand, this fourth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At Wellington, the fourth day of July, 1872.

Present:

THE HONORABLE WILLIAM FOX, PRIME MINISTER, PRESIDING, AND MEMBERS OF THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by “The Marine Act 1867,” it is, among other things, enacted that the Governor may fix the pilotage rates which shall be payable at each port, not being greater than the rates specified in the Schedule to the said Act: And whereas, by Order in Council dated the sixth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine, and made under the provisions of the said Act, certain pilotage rates were fixed for the Port of Manawatu: And whereas it is expedient to fix other rates in lieu thereof as and in manner hereinafter mentioned:

Now therefore, His Excellency Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the Governor of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Colony, and in exercise and pursuance of the power and authority vested in him by the said Act, doth hereby fix the rates set forth in the Schedule hereto as and to be the pilotage rates to be levied and taken at the Port of Manawatu: And with the like advice and consent doth order that the said pilotage rates shall be levied and taken on and after the first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two, all former pilotage rates at the said port being from the said date repealed.
