Commencing at Pakenahau, where the northern boundary of the block purchased from the natives, and called the Awahou Block, leaves the Manawatu River, and following the said boundary to Pukehinau and Omara Papaku, and onwards to the sea coast; thence by the sea coast in a southerly direction to the mouth of the Manawatu River; thence along the northern bank of the River Manawatu to the starting point at Pakenahau.

WARD No. 4.

Bounded towards the north-east by lines so as to include sections 374, 373, 372, 371, 370, 317, 316, 290, 289, and 288, Township of Palmerston, by a line from the south-east corner of section number 421, to the south-east corner of section number 447; by the same line produced to the Oroua River, by the Manawatu River, by the Kahuterawa Stream, and by a line bearing east magnetic from the source of the Kahuterawa Stream to the summit of the Tararua Range; towards the south-east by the summit of the Tararua Range; towards the south-west by the Manawatu River and by the south boundary lines of the Township of Fitzherbert, from the point where the south-west boundary of the Ahuataranga Block leaves the Manawatu River, and crosses in a south-easterly direction to the summit of the Tararua Ranges; and towards the west by the Oroua River.

WARD No. 5.

Bounded towards the north-east by a line from the north-east corner of section number 422, Township of Palmerston, to the north-west corner of section number 446, by the same line produced to the Oroua River, and by lines so as to include sections numbers 246, 247, 248, 249, 251, 250, 177, 176, and 387, by the Manawatu River, and by a line bearing 135° magnetic from the north corner of Te Wi Native Reserve to the summit of the Tararua Range; towards the south-east by the summit of the Tararua Range; towards the south-west by the north-east boundary lines of Ward number 4, and towards the north-west by the Oroua River.

WARD No. 6.

Bounded towards the north by the Oroua River, and by a line bearing east magnetic from the source of the said river to the summit of the Ruahine Range; towards the east by the summit of the Ruahine and Tararua Ranges; towards the south-west by the north-east boundary lines of Ward number 5; and towards the north-west by the Oroua River.

WARD No. 7.

Bounded towards the north-east by the Manawatu River, and by the south-west boundary of Ward number 4; towards the east by the summit of the Tararua Ranges; towards the south-east by the south-west boundaries of the Manawatu Highways District, between the summit of the Tararua Range and the mouth of the Waikanae River; and towards the north-west by the sea coast.

WARD No. 1.

Bounded towards the north by a line west magnetic from the source of the Waiohine River to the summit of the Tararua Ranges, and by the Waiohine River from its source to the Ruamahanga River; towards the east by the Ruamahanga River; towards the south by lines so as to include sections numbers 36, 20, 23, 24, 25, 26, 77, 75, 62, and 9, Morea Block; and towards the west by the Tauherenikau River to its source by a line west magnetic from the source to the summit of the Tararua Ranges, and by the summit of the Tararua Ranges.

WARD No. 2.

Bounded towards the north by a line west magnetic from the source of the Tauherenikau River to the summit of the Tararua Ranges, and by the Tauherenikau River; towards the east by the Tauherenikau River; towards the south by a stream bounding sections numbers 507 and 508, Township of Featherston Block, and running into the Wairarapa Lake, by the northern shore of the Lake, by the southern boundaries of sections numbers 512, 204, 208, 197A, and 511, Township of Featherston Block, and by lines including sections numbers 510, 462, 468, 350, and 351; and towards the west by lines including sections numbers 351, 350, and 463, and by the summits of the Rimutaka and Tararua Ranges.
