Native Lands Court.

NOTICE is hereby given, that at the sittings of the Native Lands Court, to be held at Wellington on the 24th inst., will be heard and determined certain issues, which have been referred to the said Court by the Supreme Court, in a certain cause or matter wherein Wiremu Take and others are plaintiffs; and William Fitzherbert and others, defendants.

ON Tuesday, the twenty-sixth day of
September, 1871, on reading the
pleadings filed in this Court herein, and
the issues proposed by the plaintiff and
defendants herein respectively, and on
hearing Mr. Izard of counsel for the
plaintiff, and Mr. Brandon of counsel for
the defendants, it is ordered that the following issues, namely:

  1. Were the persons or any of them
    who signed as grantors the deed of the
    twenty-ninth day of September, one
    thousand eight hundred and thirty-nine,
    in the pleadings mentioned, entitled,
    according to Maori custom and usage, to
    the whole of the lands by the said deed
    expressed to be conveyed, or to any and
    what part thereof, and to what interest
    in the same respectively?

  2. Did the lands to which they or any
    of them were entitled include the land
    comprised in the grant of the fifth day of
    November, 1851, or any and what part
    thereof be tried at the next sittings of
    the Native Lands Court at Wellington
    before such Judge or Judges of the said
    Native Lands Court as shall then be
    sitting?
