Delegation of Powers.

G. F. BOWEN, Governor.
WHEREAS by the sixth section of
"The Waste Lands Act, 1858," it
is enacted that it shall be lawful for the
Governor, under his hand and the Public
Seal of the Colony, from time to time
to delegate to the Superintendent of any
Province, or to such other person as the
Governor may think fit, all or any of the
powers vested in the Governor by sections
three, four, and five, and also by section
fourteen of the said Act, subject or not to
any limitations or restrictions as he may
think fit, and in like manner to revoke any
such powers:
Now, therefore, I, Sir George Ferguson
Bowen, the Governor of New Zealand, in
pursuance of the said power and authority,
do hereby delegate unto
WILLIAM FITZHERBERT, Esquire,
the Superintendent of the Province of
Wellington, all such powers as are vested
in me by the third, fourth, and fifth
sections of the said Act, so far as concerns
the Waste Lands of the Crown within the
said Province, to be exercised within the
limits of the said Province, without any
limitation or restriction whatever.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir George Ferguson Bowen,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint
Michael and Saint George, Governor
and Commander-in-Chief in and
over Her Majesty’s Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and
Vice-Admiral of the same, at
Auckland; and issued under the
Seal of the said Colony, this twelfth
day of July, in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-one.
