Proclamation.
By His Honor William Waring Taylor Esquire Deputy Superintendant of the Province of Wellington in the Islands of New Zealand
I WILLIAM WARING TAYLOR Deputy Superintendant of the Province of Wellington in virtue of the powers vested in me in this behalf do hereby proclaim and declare that the parts of the Province lying within the boundaries hereinafter specified shall form and constitute a district for the purposes of the “District Highways Act,” viz:
The boundary line commences at the junction of the Huangarua with the Ruamahunga river down the Ruamahunga river to its junction with the Waiarapa Lake thence along the shores of said Lake to the Lower Ruamahungas river which it follows to the Sea thence along the Sea Coast in a Southerly direction to Cape Palliser thence in a straight line to the junction of the Ruakaka Putuna and Huangarua rivers thence down the Huangarua river to the starting point.
As the said district and boundaries hereby proclaimed are more particularly delineated and described in plan drawn or endorsed hereon and thereon colored red And such district shall be called the Lower Valley Highway District.
Given under my hand and issued this seventeenth day of March.

The Wairarapa Pioneer Gold Mining Company, Registered.
I THE UNDERSIGNED, Samuel Revans, hereby make application to register “The Wairarapa Pioneer Gold Mining Company, Registered,” under the provisions of “The Mining Companies’ Limited Liability Act, 1862” and “The Mining Companies’ Limited Liability Act Amendment Act, 1865,” and do solemnly and sincerely declare that the following statement is, to the best of my belief and knowledge, true in every particular, namely:
- The name and style of the company is “The Wairarapa Pioneer Gold Mining Company, Registered.”
- The place of operations is at Whareama, Stream, district of Wairarapa, in the Province of Wellington, in the Colony of New Zealand.
- The nominal capital of the company is two hundred and fifty pounds in one hundred shares of two pounds ten shillings each.
- The amount already paid up in cash is ninety pounds ten shillings.
- The name of the manager is Samuel Revans.
- The office of the Company is at Greytown, Wairarapa.
- The names and several residences of the Shareholders, and the number of shares held by each at this date, are as follows:—
