Provincial Secretary's Office,
Wellington, January 27, 1870.
THE following resolutions, agreed to by the Trustees of the Wanganui Cemetery at a meeting held at Wanganui on Monday, 3rd January, 1870, have been submitted to and have received the approval of His Honor the Deputy-Superintendent and his Executive Council.
A. Follett Halcombe,
Provincial Secretary.
-
The Trustees resolved that, instead of permitting burials indiscriminately throughout the Cemetery, the new portion of the ground, comprehending the space lying next to the entrance gate and extending from the roadway there to the hill or mound at the termination of the enclosure, as marked upon the plan of the Cemetery, be reserved exclusively for burial sites for such persons as shall purchase and pay for the same previous to any interment taking place.
-
That the price of burial sites shall be somewhat reduced. Instead of starting from 6 feet as the minimum breadth (as heretofore) at a charge of £5 (Five Pounds) these sites shall henceforth range from 4 feet in breadth, at the price of £3 (Three Pounds), there being a charge of 15s. for every additional foot in breadth the purchaser may wish to acquire. The uniform length of burial sites shall be 9 feet as formerly.
William Hutchison,
Secretary.
