Notice of Sitting of Native Land Court at Wellington.

WHEREAS by virtue of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled "The Native Lands Act, 1867," the Governor may at his discretion refer to the Native Land Court the claim of any person to or any question affecting the title to or interest of any such person in land within the boundaries described in the second Schedule to the said Act, being the boundaries described in a certain Deed of Sale to the Crown, bearing date the thirteenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six, and expressed to be a conveyance by Natives entitled to land within the district excepted from the operation of "The Native Lands Act, 1865," by section eighty-two thereof: Provided that no claim by, and no question relating to the title or interest of any Native who shall have signed the said Deed of Sale shall be so referred:

AND WHEREAS the Governor has by warrant under his hand dated the fourth day of May, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine, referred to the Native Land Court the Claims of the persons whose names appear in the Schedule hereto being claims of persons who have not signed the said Deed of Cession to lands within the said boundaries:

Notice is hereby given that a sitting of the Native Land Court will be held at Wellington, on Monday, the twelfth day of July next, at ten o’clock in the forenoon, for the purpose of investigating and adjudicating upon the said claims.

Akapita Te Tewe and others Hikungarara Commencing at Te Pora, thence to Kopuapokororo, thence to the eastward to Papawharangi, thence by Hughes’s line to Mangaone, thence crossing that stream and going on to Tutumiro, thence to Pukeiwahie, Rangataua, Rangitikei, thence by that river to the commencing point at Te Pora.
Keremihana Wairaka Tawhirihoe Commencing at Unuunu, thence by Mr. Swainson’s line to Rehurehu, thence by that line to the sea, thence from the mouth of the Rangitikei River to Tawhirihoe, thence to Pukekuku, thence to the commencing point at Te Unuunu.
Paranihi Te Tau Reureu Pukekokeke Commencing at Waitapu, thence by that stream to Whitianga, thence southwards to Whakamoetakapu Te Puta, thence to the westward along the line of Puroa a Pakeha to Mangaone, to Pahekeheke Pukeiwahie, thence to the bridge at Whakaauranga, thence along the Rangataua Stream to the Rangitikei River, thence eastward to Kakariki Maungamutu, thence to Te Karaka Te Ruai, thence to Tapatu Waituna, thence to Te Reureu Pikitara, to the commencing point at Waitapu.
Pumipi Te Kaka Makowhai Commencing at the mouth of Makowhai, thence by that river to the Taurarua Stream, thence by that stream to Rawiri Te Wanui’s boundary, thence to Totara Taepa, thence to the northward along the boundary of Ngatikauwhata to Te Punapokororo, thence to Rangitikei, to Pora, thence by the Rangitikei River to the mouth of the Makowhai Stream, at the commencing point.
Wiriharai Te Angiangi and others Kaikokopu Commencing at Parakaia’s and Hare Hemi’s post on the inland side of Paepae, thence seawards to Hare Hemi’s boundary on the coast, thence by the coast to Pukepuke, the boundary which has been surveyed for Rawiri Te Wanui (Kakanui) thence by that line to Kakahuwera, thence to Omanukaka, thence southwards to Parakaia’s Post inland of Te Paepae.
Henare Te Waiatua and others. Oroua Commencing at Te Puta’s, thence to the eastward to Whakamoetakapui’aeroa Te Papauku, thence to the eastward, Umutoi Oroua, thence to the southward down the Oroua to Pariroa Te Ruapuha, thence westward to Makino, and on to the commencement at Te Puta.
Hare Hemi Taharape Omarupapako Bounded on the South by Crown Land, towards the interior by Parakaia’s Claim, on the East by land claimed by Wiriharai.
Rawiri Wanui Te Kooro Te One Te Ara Takana Kakanui Mangatangi Awahuri
