HIS Excellency the Governor has been
pleased to appoint the following gentle-
men to be returning officers for the
Electoral Districts set opposite their names
respectively for the election of members of
the Provincial Council of the Province of
Wellington, viz.:

James Coutts Crawford, Esq.—City of
Wellington, Karori and Makara, Po-
rirua and Hutt.

Herbert Samuel Wardell, Esq.—Wai-
rarapa East and Wairarapa West.

Walter Lawry Buller, Esq.—Mana-
watu, Rangitikei, Wangaehu, Wanganui
Town, Waitotara and Kai Iwi.

THE Inspector of Sheep for the East
Coast District has reported to this
office that he has granted clean certificates
as follow:—

On 24th March, 1869, to Mr. Thomas
Gutherie, Castle Point.

On 25th March, 1869, to Mr. C. A.
Vallance, Khaumingi.

On 25th March, 1869, to Mr. G. Mace,
Khaumingi.

On 26th March, 1869, to Mr. J. Moore,
Wainuiora.

Sheep Inspector’s Report.

THE Inspector of Sheep in the Wanganui
and West Coast District reports
that on the 17th inst., he gave a clean
certificate to

Messrs. Stevens & Fraser,

for a separate flock depasturing on the
South side of the Rangitikei River, and
that he has also pronounced the flock of

Mr. Alexander Winks
of Parawanui to be clean.
