of this proclamation constitute the Township of Carterton.

Commencing at the Junction of the
Mungataurera Stream with the Waiohine
River, thence up the Mungataurera Stream
until it meets a line being a continuation
of the Southern Boundary of Sections 17'2,
145, 171, 89, and 1, Taratahi Plain Block,
thence along the said line to the South
Eastern corner of Section No. 1, Taratahi
Plain Block, thence on a magnetic bearing
of 215° 31' until it strikes the Waiohine
River, thence up the Waiohine River to the
starting point.

Alteration of Boundaries of the Featherston Highway District.

PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor Isaac Earl
Featherston, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in the Colony of New Zealand.

WHEREAS a certain Highway District
called the Featherston Highway District was proclaimed as such in the Provincial Government Gazette of the Province of Wellington, No. 2, dated the eighteenth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four. And whereas it is expedient to alter the boundaries of the said District in manner hereinafter mentioned, due notice of such alteration having been given in manner required by law.

Now therefore I, Isaac Earl Featherston, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, and in virtue of the power and authority vested in me in this behalf, proclaim and declare that the parcel of land comprised within the following boundaries shall from the date hereof be considered as no longer within the boundaries of the said Highway District.

The Boundary commences at the South Western Corner of Section No. 463, Featherston Highway District, thence along the Southern boundary of said Section to its South East corner, thence along its Eastern boundary to the Owahanga River, thence along said River to the Wairarapa Lake, thence South Westerly along the banks of the Wairarapa Lake to the Wairongomai Bush, thence along the Northern boundary of said Bush to the Remutaka Hills, thence along said hills to the starting point.
