MIDDLE DISTRICT.

In the matter of the petition of THOMAS SCOWN, of Wanganui, in the Province of Wellington, laborer, a bankrupt; and in the matter of the "Debtors and Creditors Act, 1862;" and in the matter of the "Debtors and Creditors Act Amendment Act, 1865;" and in the matter of the "Debtors and Creditors Act Amendment Act, 1866,"

ON Tuesday, the 19th day of March, 1867, on reading the petition of the said Petitioner, filed herein, and the affidavit of Francis Deighton, thereunto annexed, and on hearing Mr. Izard, of council for the Petitioner, it is ordered that the said Petition be accepted, and that the said Petitioner do come up for hearing at the Supreme Court House, at Wellington on the 8th day of May next, at the hour of ten o'clock in the forenoon, and that a meeting of the Creditors of the said Petitioner be held at the office of Mr. M. V. Hodge, of Wanganui, on Friday, the 26th day of April next, at the hour of eleven o'clock in the forenoon, for the purpose of recommending Trustees for the said Estate, and the mode of winding up the same, and that in the meantime W. R. E. Brown, Esquire, Inspector of Bankruptcy, be appointed sequestrator of the Estate and Effects of the said petitioner, and it is hereby ordered that this order shall be a vesting order in accordance with the provisions of the said Act of 1865, and it is hereby ordered that the person of the Petitioner, and his goods and chattels shall be protected from all processes of arrest, save only against any which may issue against him under the "Writ of Arrest Act" to the satisfaction of a judge of the honorable Court, or of a registrar in his absence.
