The number of Sheep in my Report for the year ending in May, 1866, was 240,680, and assessment paid thereon \u00a3501 8s. 4d., added to this the above Return, will make the total for May, 1866, number of sheep, 246,991 assessment, \u00a3514 11s. 3\u00bd d.; leaving out that of We Te Waho, which assessment is not yet received, owing to the R.M. not having sufficient machinery to enforce his decisions.
