Makirikiri (Turakina) School District.

PROCLAMATION.

By HIS HONOR ISAAC EARL FEATHERSTON, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in the Islands of New Zealand.

WHEREAS by an Act of the Second Session of the Provincial Council of Wellington, intituled "An Act to promote the establishment of Common Schools in the Province of Wellington," it is enacted that for the purposes of the said Act it should be lawful for the Superintendent by proclamation to divide the Province into Districts, and from time to time to subdivide such Districts and to reunite any subdivisions. And also by proclamation to declare that the said Act should come into operation within such District or Sub-division at such time as he might appoint. And whereas it is deemed expedient to proclaim that portion of the Province within the boundaries hereinafter set forth to be a District for the purposes of the said Act. Now therefore I, Isaac Earl Featherston, Superintendent, of the Province of Wellington, in virtue of the power and authority vested in me in this behalf, Do hereby proclaim and declare that such portion of the said Province as is comprised within the following boundaries shall form and constitute a District for the purposes of the said Act to be called the "Makirikiri School District, Turakina."

The boundary commences at the Junction of the Bonny Glen Road with the Eastern boundary of the Turakina School District, thence along the Bonny Glen Road to the North East corner of Section 25, Agricultural Reserve, thence along the Eastern boundaries of Sections 25, 28, 32, 42 and 43, thence along the Southern boundary of Sections 43 and 39, and across a public road, thence Southerly along the Eastern boundary of Section 37, thence along the Southern boundary of Sections 37, 38 and 58, thence Northerly along a portion of the Western boundary of Section 58, thence Easterly along a portion of the boundary of Section 58, until it reaches the Otakapu Native Reserve, thence along the Western boundary of that reserve until it reaches the North West corner, thence South Easterly along the boundary of the said Reserve until it meets the junction of the Western boundary of Section 58, thence along that boundary until it meets the South West corner of Section 46a, thence along the Southern boundary of Sections 46a and 46 till it meets the boundary line of the Turakina School District, thence Northerly along the Eastern boundary of the Turakina School District, to the starting point.

And also that the said Act shall come into operation within such District on the day of the date hereof.

Given under my hand and issued under the public seal of the Province of Wellington, at Wellington, this twentieth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven.
