Defining the Boundaries of the Township of “Fitzherbert”

PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor Isaac Earl Featherston, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in the Islands of New Zealand.

ISAAC EARL FEATHERSTON, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in pursuance of the power vested in me by clause II of the Additional Land Regulations of the fifteenth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-five, do hereby proclaim and notify that the block of land situate in the Manawatu District, comprised within the following boundaries, viz.:—Commencing at Te Weki and Roto Piko, on the river Manawatu (being the point where the South Western boundary of the Ahuaturanga Block crosses the river Manawatu), and going along the boundary of the said block in a south-easterly direction to Mangawharawhara, and on to Arawaru on the Tararua Range, thence following the boundary line of the said Ahuaturanga Block along the Tararua Range to the gorge of the river Manawatu, and thence going in a south-westerly direction along the southern bank of the river Manawatu to the starting point, and computed to contain about forty thousand acres, and which said boundaries are particularly delineated in the plan annexed hereto, will from and after this date be reserved as the site of a township to be called “Fitzherbert.”

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Wellington, at Wellington, this twenty-second day of June, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven.

NOTICE OF TIMES AND PLACES FOR INVESTIGATING CLAIMS.

NOTICE is hereby given that the claims on behalf of themselves, and others, of the several persons whose names are mentioned in the first column of the schedule hereunder written, to the several blocks of land of which the names and localities are mentioned in the second column of the schedule hereunder written, will be investigated at Wellington, on the 19th of August next, and following days.
