HIS HONOUR THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified that on the night of SATURDAY, the SEVENTEENTH day of FEBRUARY next, and every night thereafter, from the going away of daylight in the evening to the return of daylight in the morning, a LIGHT will be exhibited from the undermentioned Lighthouse, the position and characteristics of which have been specified by John Halliday, Harbor Master of the Province of Wellington, as follows:—

The Light is Catadioptric, of the fourth order, showing a fixed White Light in mid-channel, a fixed Red Light on the Western, and a fixed Green Light on the Eastern shore, and will be exhibited from an Octagonal Tower of iron, painted white. The Light will be about seventy-four (74) feet above high-water mark, and is visible in ordinary weather at a distance of ten (10) nautical miles, or four (4) miles outside Pencarrow Head Light.
