Defining the Lower Rangitikei School District No. 2.

PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor Isaac Earl Featherston, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington in the Islands of New Zealand.

WHEREAS by an Act of the second Session of the Provincial Council of Wellington No. 6 intituled "An Act to promote the establishment of Common Schools in the Province of Wellington" it is enacted that for the purposes of the said Act it should be lawful for the Superintendent by Proclamation to divide the Province into districts and from time to time to sub-divide such districts and to re-unite any sub-divisions and also by Proclamation to declare that the said Act should come into operation within such district or sub-division at such time as he might appoint. And whereas it is deemed expedient to proclaim that portion of the Province within the boundaries hereinafter set forth to be a district for the purposes of the said Act. Now therefore I, Isaac Earl Featherston, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in virtue of the power and authority vested in me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that such portion of the said Province as is comprised within the following boundaries shall form and constitute a district for the purposes of the said Act, to be called "The Lower Rangitikei School District No. 2," which said district shall be bounded as follows, namely:—

Bounded by a line commencing at the North-west corner of C. Campion’s selection of eighty acres and running in an Easterly direction to the South-west corner of Block No. LXXXIII; thence Easterly by the boundary of the said Block and of Block No. 1 to the Tuāenui Stream; thence Southerly by the said Stream and by the River Rangitikei till intersected by a continuation of the North-eastern boundary of John Ward’s land; thence North-westerly by the said line and boundary to the North-east corner of said land; thence Southerly along part of the Western boundary line till intersected by a continuation of the Northern boundary of Section No. 26A; and thence Westerly by the said line and boundary to the North-west corner of Section No. 26A; thence by a line running North-easterly to the South-west corner of Section No. 38 and by the Western boundary of the said Section to the South-west corner of C. Campion’s selection of eighty acres; and thence by the Westerly boundary of said Selection to the commencing point.

And also that the said Act shall come into operation within such district on the day of the date hereof.

Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Wellington at Wellington this Fourteenth day of August, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-six.

PROCLAMATION.

Commencing at the North-west corner of Section No. 99 Porirua; thence a line to the North-east corner of said Section; thence a straight line to the South-west corner of Section No. 8 Pahautanui; thence along the Southern boundaries of Sections Nos. 8 and 66 to the South-east corner of Section No. 66; thence a line to the South-west corner of Section No. 70; thence a line to the South-east corner of said Section; thence a line to the South-west corner of Section No. 71; thence a line to the South-east corner of James Chance’s application; thence a line to the North-west corner of William Connor’s application; thence a line to the South-east corner of John Ager’s application; thence a line to the North-east corner of Alexander Cacey’s application; thence a line to the South-east corner of Section No. 8 in the agricultural block Pahautanui; thence a line to the North-east corner of Section No. 9; thence a line to the South-east corner of Section No. 24; thence a line to the North-east corner of Section No. 25, agricultural block Pahautanui; thence a straight line to the North-east corner of Section No. 14, Horokiwi Valley district; thence along the Eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 17, 18, and 21 to the North-east corner of said Section No. 21; thence along the Northern boundaries of Sections Nos. 21 and 20 to the North-west corner
