Defining the Boundaries of the Makiri-kiri Highways District.
PROCLAMATION.
By His Honor Isaac Earl Featherson Esquire Superintendent of the Province of Wellington in the Islands of New Zealand.
ISAAC EARL FEATHERSTON
Superintendent of the Province of Wellington in virtue of the powers and authority in me vested in this behalf do hereby proclaim and declare that the parts of the Province lying within the limits hereinafter specified shall form and constitute a district for the purposes of the District Highways Acts namely commencing at the south-west corner of section number (43) forty-three on the plan of the Turakina district in the said Province thence northerly to the north-west corner of the said section thence easterly along the northern boundary of sections numbers (43) forty-three (45) forty-five (47) forty-seven (48) forty-eight (49) forty-nine (50) fifty (51) fifty-one and (52) fifty-two on the said plan to the north-east corner of the said section number (52) fifty-two thence northerly to the north-west corner of section number (30) thirty on the plan of the Rangitikei District Agricultural Reserve thence easterly along the northern boundaries of sections numbers (30) thirty (29) twenty-nine and (28) twenty-eight on the said last mentioned plan to the north-east corner of the said section number (28) twenty-eight thence southerly to the south-east corner of section number (32) thirty-two on the said last mentioned plan thence westerly to the south-west corner of section number (31) thirty-one on the said last mentioned plan thence southerly to the south-east corner of section number (57) fifty-seven on the said last mentioned plan thence along the Great North Western Trunk Road to the south-west corner of section number (56) fifty-six on the said last mentioned plan thence northerly to the Makiri-kiri stream and thence down the Makiri-kiri stream to the commencing point as the said district and limits are more particularly delineated and described in the plan drawn in the margin hereof and thereon colored “red”. And such Highway District shall be called the Makiri-kiri Highways District.
Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Wellington at Wellington this twenty-fifth day of May one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six.
