householders of any or town district within the
Province, shall be made to the Sheriff or any two
Justices of the Peace having jurisdiction
within such town or district, requesting that
a public meeting of the inhabitants thereof
may be called to take into consideration the
propriety of establishing a market therein,
such Sheriff or two Justices shall, at such
time and place as he or they deem most
convenient, call a public meeting of the in-
habitants of the town or district for that pur-
pose, and at such meeting the Sheriff or one
of such Justices shall preside." And, also, that
"If at such meeting a Resolution be adopted
in favor of establishing a Market in such town
or district, the same shall be communicated by
the Sheriff or the Justice presiding thereat to
the Superintendent; and if the Superinten-
dent with the advice of his Executive Council
shall approve of the Establishment of such
Market, the same shall be notified in the
Government Gazette." And WHEREAS it has
been duly certified to me, Isaac Earl Feather-
ston, the Superintendent of the said Province
of Wellington, that a Public Meeting of the
Inhabitants of the Town or City of Welling-
ton has been duly called and holden, and that
at such Public Meeting a resolution was
adopted in favor of establishing a Market in
the said Town or City of Wellington, on Re-
serve No. 8, (eight) Te Aro: NOW, THERE-
FORE, I, Isaac Earl Featherston, the Superin-
tendent aforesaid, hereby notify that with the
advice of my Executive Council, I approve of
the establishment of such Market.

Deposit of Plans, &c., Tunahaere

District.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Board
of Wardens of the Tunahaere district,
intend to make a new road through the said
district, and have therefore deposited a book,
plan, &c., in this office, and duplicates thereof
at the Wanganui Hotel, in the town of Wan-
ganui, being the house at which it usually
meets to transact business, and have appointed
Friday, the fifth day of August, at two o'clock
in the afternoon, as a meeting of the Board
at the Wanganui Hotel aforesaid, to receive
any objections to the intended works.

tion of the above-named Petitioners, made
to this Court on the 1st day of July instant, His
Honor Mr. Justice Johnston did order that an
adinterim sequestration of the estate and effects
of the said William Mansill was made, and the
hearing of the said Petition was appointed to be
held at the Supreme Court, Wellington, on Friday,
the 15th day of July, 1864, at ten of the clock in
the forenoon, when all Creditors of the said
William Mansill can attend.
