HIS HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT has directed the publication of the following letter with its enclosure conveying the thanks of His Excellency the Governor, to the Wellington Militia.

SIR,— I have the honor to enclose a copy of a letter of thanks to the Wellington Militia from His Excellency the Governor, which I forward to you for insertion in the Government Gazette, should you think that step advisable.

SIR,— With reference to my letter as per margin (No. 207, 27th December, 1860.) I have the honor to request that you will be pleased to convey to the Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers, and Men of the Wellington Militia the expression of His Excellency the Governor's appreciation of the important service they have rendered the Colony, and the thanks of His Excellency, and the Government, for the very satisfactory and zealous manner in which they have performed their duties, during the period of their embodiment on actual service.
