✨ Crown Land Notices and Public Safety



Crown Land Office,

Wellington, 30th May, 1861.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the undermen-
tioned Land Orders, issued under the authori-
ty of the "Waste Lands Act, 1858," are now
ready for delivery at this Office.

In cases where the person entitled to the Land
Order is unable to attend in person to receive it,
it will be delivered to the bearer of any authority
according to the subjoined form, certified by a
Magistrate, or by a Solicitor of the Supreme Court.

Form of Authority above referred to.

I hereby authorise A.B., of _____,
to receive the Land Order issued in my favor under
the authority of the "Waste Land’s Act, 1858."

Wellington, 7th June, 1861.

NOTICE is hereby given that Francis
Robert Arthur, Esquire, has, with
the consent of the Commissioner of
Crown Lands, thrown up 1710 Acres of
Land situated on the Taratahi Plain in
the Wairarapa District, being part of a
selection of 7000 acres, made by him on
the 22nd April last; and that the same
will be open for selection at this office,
under the Land Regulations of the Pro-
vince of Wellington, on and after the
12th day of July next.

LIFE BUOYS AND GRAPNELLS

Provincial Secretary’s Office,
Wellington, 10th June, 1861.

NOTICE is hereby given that Life
Buoys and Grapnells have been
placed for the use of the Public, in the
event of accidents on the Harbour, at
the undermentioned places, viz:—

  • End of Mr. Brown’s Wharf, opposite
    the Royal Hotel.
  • The Harbour Master’s Office, near
    Mr. Plimmer’s Wharf.
  • The rear of Mr. Walden’s shop, near
    Mr. Swinbourne’s Wharf.
  • The Office of Mr. Wills, near Messrs.
    Bethune and Hunter’s Wharf.
