Land Boundaries and Reserves




SCHEDULE.

TUKUPUPURU BLOCK, WAIRARAPA DISTRICT.

Contents 35,000 acres.

The boundary commences at Waihorohika on the Tauhuru river, and down the Tauhuru southward to Tamikiwaha, thence to the Kiki, on the Makahakaha stream, up the Makahakaha to Mongohau, thence eastward to Matangikaihau, Kabapahapa, Pukemangamanga Parangiao, Te Parapara, Kowmran, thence westward to Kakauui, thence down the Maringiawa to the foot of the hill, thence along the foot of the hills to Te Wharo, Te Manga o te whita, Autokitoki, Te Whakarai, Waikoko, Taumato Taurahingako, thence eastward to the cliffs below Hinewaka, Te Poo te rehunga, Te Mangao te Pohatu, Par; wharariki on the Maungaraki range, Te whawhiti wahine, thence down the Maungaraki creek into Waiuuiora river; up the Wainuiora river northward to te Hero, thence westward Taurangi, Waipapa, Wai o te Rangi, Te Ngutukoko, Awhenua, Waihanginangina, Te Motu o te Topune, thence down the Umu o te Ranga creek to Waihorokeika on the Tauheru river, where the boundaries commenced.

The following Reserves are made within the above boundaries for the Natives, and are marked off on the ground :—

397 acres for Wairua and others on the Wainuiora river.

100 acres for Maika Purakau on the Tauheru.

495 acres for Wiremu Kingi te Hiakai on the Tauheru.

50 acres for Heneri Kingi on the Tauheru.

100 acres for Ngairo and others at Tupurupuru.

100 acres for Te Kaninamu on the Tauheru.

200 acres on the Makahakaha.

The foregoing Reserves are more particularly delineated on the plan now deposited in the Crown Lands’ Office in Wellington.

MAUNGARAKI BLOCK, WAIRARAPA DISTRICT.

Contents 10,200 acres (estimated).

The boundary commences at the Waioterangi-akaaka on the Tauheru river, thence eastward to Te Pitihihi, Te Rae o Hinekaia, Te Parakataka, Te Puta Te Maungakainui, Te Paketete, Te Kirikauohi Tapuakia, Te Koangaumti, Hinakiri Te Rae o te Hunga, on the Waihilabm river, thence up the Wainuioru river to Poki, thence eastward along the boundary of the land sold to the Crown to Mamamapuha, thence down the Waipawa stream to its confluence with the Tauheru, thence down the Tauheru river to the Rangiakaaka, where the boundaries commenced.

Reserve.

50 acres at the foot of the Pakemokimoki Hill, on the Tauheru river.

WAINGONGORO BLOCK, CASTLE POINT DISTRICT

Contents 7000 acres (estimated).

The boundary commences at the confluence of the Makatote creek with the Mataikona river, and follows the Makatote creek to Ruapekapeka, and on to Tiwhanui, thence down the Waingongoro creek to the Aohanga river, thence westerly up the Aohanga river until it reaches the boundary of the land sold in 1853 to the Crown, thence southerly along the boundary of the Crown Land to the confluence of the Makatote creek and Mataikona river.

Reserve.

200 acres on the Aohanga river for Hoera Rauta.

IHURAUABLOCK, FORTY MILE BUSH DISTRICT.

Contents 25,000 acres (estimated).

The boundary commences at the confluence of the Waitehoro and Ihuraua rivers, thence up the Ihuraua to its confluence with the Hoe river; up the Hoe river to a point where it strikes to the westward, and on to Mongapuka, on the Tiraumea, down the Tiraumea river to its confluence with the Mangaone, thence down the Mangaone river to Kaitiaki, thence in a line eastward to the source of the Waitehoro, down the Waitehoro river to its confluence with the Ihuraua river, where the boundaries commenced.

Reserve.

21 acres at the junction of the Ihuraua and Hoe rivers for Karanama, and is more particularly delineated on a plan now deposited in the Crown Lands’ Office, Wellington.

MAKURI BLOCK, FORTY MILE BUSH DISTRICT.

Contents 12,000 acres (estimated).

The boundary commences at Wahatuara, thence running south on Pelichets’ boundary line of the Castle Point Block to Mawiriki, on the Tiraumea river, thence westward up the Tiraumea to the Makuri, thence up the Makuri river northward to a point westward of Wahatuara, thence in a straight line to Wahatuara, where the boundaries commenced.
