PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor ISAAC EARL FEATHERSTON, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in the Islands of New Zealand.

I, ISAAC EARL FEATHERSTON, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, do hereby proclaim and notify that the several Blocks of Land enumerated in the Schedule hereunto annexed, except certain Reserves therein mentioned, will be open for purchase and selection at the Crown Land Office, Wellington, on and after Tuesday, the twenty-first day of February, 1860, under the Land Regulations of the 4th day of March, 1853, and the additional Land Regulations of the 15th day of February, 1855.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Wellington, at Wellington, this 31st day of December, 1859.

SCHEDULE.

TIROHANGA BLOCK, WAIRARAPA DISTRICT,
Contents 1700 acres (estimated).

Commencing at the confluence of the Owhangi stream with the Ruamahanga river, running in a North Easterly direction (bearing by compass 49° 00’) to Mangapungapunga, on the Kopuaranga river, thence down the river to its confluence with the Ruamahanga, thence up the Ruamahanga to the mouth of the Owhangi stream, being the point of commencement.

WAINUI BLOCK, WAIKANAЕ DISTRICT,
Contents 30,000 acres (estimated).

Commencing on the sea coast at the mouth of the Whareroa stream, up the stream to the Whareroa settlement, thence in a straight line over the hills to Paparau-ponga, thence Southerly along the boundary of the land formerly ceded by the Ngatekahangunu to the Crown, to Pawakataka, whence it turns in a westerly direction in a straight line over the hills to Ponawa, and on to Tanupo, crossing the road, and running in a straight line (bearing by compass) to the Ana-a-hau on the sea coast, and along the sea coast (North) to Paekakariki, Wainui, and to the mouth of the Whareroa stream, the point of commencement.

Whareroa Settlement .... 17 acres
Wainui Township .... 135 "
Paekakariki Settlement .... 135 "
Ngapaiparua Cultivations .... 280 "
Te Rongo o te wera .... 160 "
Te Puka .... 60 "

A piece of land situated at Paekakariki, six and a half acres in extent, is conveyed by Deed of Gift from the Aboriginal owners to the half caste children of John and Peti Nicol.

A piece of land situated also at Paekakariki, two and a half acres, is conveyed by Deed of Gift from the Aboriginal owners to Henry Fugent.

PIHAUTEA BLOCK, WAIRARAPA DISTRICT.
Contents 518 acres.
Bidwell’s Homestead;

Commencing at the Ruamahanga river at Manawawiri, thence westerly in a straight line (bearing by compass) 249° 9’ to the Wharehuata, thence in a N.W. direction to the Puahi, thence in a straight line to the west end of the Waiapokopoko Swamp, and through the Swamp in a straight line (bearing by compass) 290° 30’ to Te Maire, up the Maire stream to the Kokoti stream, and up the Kokoti to a marked stake, thence to the Wakapaua, thence easterly in a straight line (bearing by compass) 27° 00’ to a stake on the Ruamahanga, thence following the course of the Ruamahanga river to Manawawiri, the point of commencement.
