TO LAND PURCHASERS IN THE
RANGITIKI AND TURAKINA
DISTRICTS.
THE SELECTED SECTIONS in the above districts having been Surveyed, Notice is hereby given that the Government is prepared to put the Owners or their Agents in possession and to point out the boundaries &c.
Purchasers not availing themselves of this notice before the 1st May, next, will not be entitled to the services of a Government Surveyor in discovering the boundaries of their land, and no further Survey of the same will be executed by the Government in case of any lines or other marks becoming eradicated.

NOTICE.
ELECTION OF ONE MEMBER TO REPRESENT THE "WELLINGTON COUNTRY DISTRICT," IN THE PROVINCIAL COUNCIL.
Province of Wellington,
To Wit,
WHEREAS a Writ under the hand of His Honor Isaac Earl Featherson, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, and under the Seal of the said Province, bearing date the 9th day of February, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-eight, hath been directed to me, Henry St. Hill, Esquire, Returning Officer for the "Wellington Country District," requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by the Voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently and in manner and form by law prescribed, One legally qualified person to serve as a Member for the "Wellington Country District" in the Provincial Council of the Province of Wellington, in the room of Thomas Dalton McManaway, who has resigned his seat in consequence of having accepted a Contract under the Provincial Government of the said Province.
Now, therefore, I, the said Henry St. Hill, Returning Officer for the "Wellington Country District," do hereby in pursuance of the said Writ, give Notice that a Public Meeting of the Electors of the "Wellington Country District" will be holden at the Resident Magistrate’s Court, situate on Lambton-quay, in the City of Wellington, on Monday, the First day of March next, at Noon, for the purpose of nominating One person to serve as a Member in the room of the said Thomas Dalton McManaway for the "Wellington Country District" in the said Provincial Council, and in the event of a Poll being demanded, such Polling shall take place at the Resident Magistrate’s Court aforesaid, and at the other Polling Places in the said District, on Thursday, the Fourth day of March next, the Voting to commence at any time after Nine o’clock in the forenoon of the said day and to close at Four o’clock in the afternoon of the said day.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that copies of the Commercial Code of Signals, and of the Commercial Navy List, 1857, published by authority of the Lords of the Committee of Privy Council for Trade, have been received from the Colonial Secretary, and are deposited for public reference in the Harbour Master’s Temporary Offices, Plimmer’s Wharf.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified for general information, that the undermentioned gentlemen were elected on the 10th December last to serve on the Board of Commissioners for the Management of the Streets, Sewerage, Drainage, &c., of that portion of the Town of Wellington, proclaimed in the Provincial Government Gazette of 17th March, 1856, in the room of two other Commissioners who have vacated their seats at the said Board.
