person to serve as a Member for the said
District, in the said Provincial Council;
and in the event of a Poll being de-
manded for the Candidates, or any of
them, such Polling shall take place at the
house of Mr. Thomas Kempton aforesaid, and at the other polling places
in the said District, on Monday, the
thirteenth day of September next; the
Voting to commence at any time after
Nine o’clock in the forenoon of the said
day, and to close at four o’clock in the
afternoon of the said day.

ONE MEMBER FOR THE WELLINGTON
COUNTRY DISTRICT.

Province of Wellington,

To Wit.

WHEREAS a Writ under the hand
of Isaac Earl Featherston,
Esquire, Superintendent of the Province
of Wellington, and under the Public Seal
of the said Province, bearing date the
twentieth day of August, one thousand
eight hundred and fifty-eight, hath been
directed to me, John Elisha Smith,
Esq., Returning Officer for the “Wellington Country District,” requiring and
commanding me to cause to be elected
by and from amongst the voters duly
qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently, and in manner and form by
law prescribed, a person to serve as a
Member for the Wellington Country
District aforesaid, in the place of Alfred
De Bathe Brandon, Esq., whose seat in
the said Council has become vacant.

NOW THEREFORE I, the said John
Elisha Smith, Returning Officer for
the “Wellington Country District,” do
hereby, in pursuance of the said Writ,
give notice that a Public Meeting of the
Electors of the “Wellington Country
District” will be helden at the Resident
Magistrate’s Court, situate on Lambton
Quay, in the City or Town of Wellington,
on Saturday, the eleventh day of
September next, at noon, for the purpose
of nominating one person to serve as a
Member for the said “Wellington Country District,” in the said Provincial Council;
and in the event of a Poll being
demanded for the Candidates, or any of
them, such Polling shall take place at the
Resident Magistrate’s Court, aforesaid,
and at the other polling places in the
said District, on Wednesday the fifteenth day of September next; the voting
to commence at any time after nine
o’clock in the forenoon of the said day,
and to close at four o’clock in the afternoon of the said day.
