NOTICE.
ELECTION OF MEMBERS OF HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
WELLINGTON COUNTRY DISTRICT.
Province of Wellington.
TO WIT.
WHEREAS a Writ under the hand of His Excellency Thomas Gore Browne, Companion of the Most Honorable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over the Islands of New Zealand, &c., &c., bearing date the nineteenth day of June, in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty-eight, and under the Public Seal of the Islands of New Zealand aforesaid, hath been directed to me John Elisha Smith, Esquire, Returning Officer for the “Wellington Country District,” reciting that it is necessary that an Election of One Member of the House of Representatives for the “Wellington Country District” should now take place, and requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by the Voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently, and in manner and form by law prescribed, one legally qualified person to serve as Member of the said House of Representatives for the “Wellington Country District.”
Now therefore I, the said John Elisha Smith, Esquire, Returning Officer for the “Wellington Country District,” do hereby, in pursuance of the said recited Writ, give Notice that a Public Meeting of the Electors of the “Wellington Country District” will be held at the Resident Magistrate’s Court, situate on Lambton-quay, in the City of Wellington, in the Province aforesaid, on Wednesday, the Twenty-eighth (28th) day of July instant, at noon, for the purpose of nominating One person to serve as a Member for the “Wellington Country District” in the House of Representatives of the Islands of New Zealand aforesaid; and in the event of a Poll being demanded for the Candidates, or any of them, such Polling shall take place at such Resident Magistrate’s Court aforesaid, and at such other Polling places as may by Public Notice be appointed, on Thursday, the Twenty-ninth (29th) day of July instant; the voting to commence at any time after nine o’clock in the forenoon of the said day, and to close at four o’clock in the afternoon of the said day.

WHEREAS a Writ under the hand of His Excellency Thomas Gore Browne, Companion of the Most Honorable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over the Islands of New Zealand, &c., &c., bearing date the nineteenth day of June, in the year of Our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifty-eight, and under the Public Seal of the Islands of New Zealand aforesaid, hath been directed to me, John Elisha Smith, Esquire, Returning Officer for “Hutt District,” reciting that it is necessary that an Election of Two Members of the House of Representatives for the Hutt District should now take place; and requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by the Voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently, and in manner and form by law prescribed, Two legally qualified persons to serve as Members of the said House of Representatives for the “Hutt District.”
Now therefore I, the said John Elisha Smith, Esquire, Returning Officer for the “Hutt District,” do hereby, in pursuance of the said recited Writ, give notice that a Public Meeting of the Electors of the “Hutt District” will be held at the Mechanics’ Institute, in the Valley of the Hutt, in the Province aforesaid, on Friday, the Thirtieth day of July instant, at noon, for the purpose of nominating Two persons to serve as Members for the Hutt District in the House of Representatives of the Islands of New Zealand aforesaid; and in the event of a Poll being demanded for the Candidates, or any of them, such Polling shall take place at such Mechanics’ Institute aforesaid and at the other polling places as have been or may be by Public Notice appointed, on Saturday, the Thirty-first (31st) day of July instant, the voting to commence at any time after nine o’clock in the forenoon of the said day, and to close at four o’clock in the afternoon of the said day.
