Do hereby Proclaim and Notify that the lands described in the annexed Schedule will be
open for public selection under the Regulations of the fourth day of March, One
thousand eight hundred and fifty-three,
and the Additional Land Regulations, at
the Land Offices at Wellington and Napier on and after the first day of March,
1858.

No. 1.
The Otaranqa Block.
ESTIMATED TO CONTAIN 50,000 ACRES.

The boundary of the land commences
at the mouth of the Oaro stream, thence
along the said stream and on to Rautapapa, thence to Omawhai, thence on to
Poporenga, thence along the Poporenga
and on to Te Upoko-o-koko, thence on to
Waitangi thence on to Tuwharawhenua, thence on to the mouth of the Kauhangapiro stream, thence along the Kauhangapiro and on to Otamaararo, thence
on to Te Puo te pikitanga, thence turning
it runs on to Reureuowhiuwhin, thence
to the Otaratahi, thence on to the Otuaroa, thence on to Te Awaroa, thence on
to Pohatukaha, thence turning Easterly
right along the ridge of the Ruahine to
Ohawai, thence on to Oruurea, thence on to
Tamahine o Te Urungatapa, thence on to
Wairauga, thence on to te RakaItaonga,
thence on to Tikorangi, thence turning
and on to Waitutaki, thence on to the
Ngaruroro, thence right on along the said
stream and on to Poauou, and so on until
it joins at the mouth of the Oaro stream,
where it ends.

No. 2.
The Puahanui Block,
ESTIMATED TO CONTAIN 12,000 ACRES.

The boundary begins at the junction
of the Whakarapurapu and Mangaonuku
streams, runs thence to Te Poua Onenuku, thence to Motukumara, thence to Tuakirikiri,
thence through the Tuamahapu
Bush, to Te Kōrora, where it emerges on
the plain and follows the edge of the wood
to Te Upoko O Paua, whence it runs up
to the Mangamate stream to Te Rewarewa where it breaks off and runs to Mairepoiki, at the Eastern end of the Mahua
Bush, thence up the Arawahi a Kaiatahu
to Te Puku, thence to Te Haurakau, here
it breaks off and runs to Mangamauku,
thence to Mangatikeke, where it again
breaks and runs in a southerly direction to
Ngamahanga, thence to Mangaupokororu,
thence to Taria Hakeke, where it breaks
off and runs down the Taueateko stream
into the Mangamanku and down that
stream into the Mangaonuku thence up
the Mangaonuku to the Whakarapurapu.

No. 3:
The Ruahine Block.
ESTIMATED TO CONTAIN 100,000 ACRES.

Bounded on the South by the Makaretu River, on the North by the Waipawa
River, on the West by the summit line of
the Ruahine Mountains, and on the East
by the lands purchased by the Government from the Natives.

MAILS TO THE WAIRARAPA.

Post Office, Wellington,
December 24th, 1857.

SEALED TENDERS, (IN DUPLICATE)
will be received at this Office, on or
before the 1st of February next, from
Persons desirous of Contracting for the
