PROCLAMATION.
By His Honor ISAAC EARL FEATHERSTON, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in the Islands of New Zealand.
WHEREAS by the “DISTRICT HIGHWAYS ACT, 1856,” of the Provincial Council of Wellington, It was enacted that the Superintendent might, for the purposes of that Act, from time to time by Proclamation divide the Province, or any part thereof into Districts, and might in like manner sub-divide, alter, or reunite the same. And whereas by Proclamation under the Public Seal of the Province, issued on the 21st day of November, 1854, the Superintendent of the said Province of Wellington did Proclaim and declare that the District therein mentioned should be a District for the purposes of the said Act, and be called the “Wai-nui-o-mata District.” And by another Proclamation issued under the Public Seal of the Province, dated the 15th day of January, 1857, the boundaries of such district were altered as therein mentioned.
And whereas it is expedient to make further alterations in the boundaries of the said District. Now therefore I, the said Superintendent, in virtue of the Power in me vested in this behalf, do hereby Proclaim and Declare that the said District so proclaimed as aforesaid as the “Wai-nui-o-mata District” shall be altered, and that the Boundaries of the said District shall from the date of this Proclamation be as follows, viz.:
South the coast Turrakirai head to Fitzroy Bay to a point from which a line drawn magnetic North strikes the North East corner of section No. “51,” Harbour District, along the back lines of Harbour District to North East corner of Section No. “25” along the Northern boundary of the said section and part of No. “24,” to the back line of section No. “22 A” (property of Emma Jackson) to the division line between the said Land and Section Number “77” Lower Hutt District, along the said division line to the Harbour of Port Nicholson along the Waiwetu River to the South-West boundary of No. “13” Lower Hutt District, along that and the Western boundary of the said Section to the line known as Whites, Eastward to the Eastern Boundary of the Hutt District.
Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Wellington, at Wellington, this fourteenth day November, One thousand eight hundred and fifty-seven.
