NOTICE.

Election of Five Members to represent the "Wellington Country District," in the Provincial Council.

PROVINCE OF WELLINGTON
TO WIT.

WHEREAS A WRIT, under the hand of His Excellency THOMAS GORE BROWNE, Commander of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over the Islands of New Zealand, &c., &c., and under the Public Seal of the Colony of New Zealand, bearing date the tenth day of August, One thousand eight hundred and fifty-seven, hath been directed to me, HENRY ST. HILL, Esquire, Returning Officer for the Wellington Country District, requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by the Voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently, and in manner and form by law prescribed, Five legally qualified persons to serve as Members for the Wellington Council of the Province of Wellington.

NOW THEREFORE I, the said HENRY ST. HILL, Returning Officer for the Wellington Country District, do hereby, in pursuance of the said Writ, give Notice, that a Public Meeting of the Electors of the Wellington Country District will be holden at the Resident Magistrate's Court, situate on Lambton Quay, in the City or Town of Wellington, on Monday, the ninth (9th) day of November next, for the purpose of nominating Five Persons to serve as Members for the Wellington Country District in the said Provincial Council, and in the event of a Poll being demanded for the Candidates, or any of them, such Polling shall take place at the Resident Magistrate's Court, aforesaid, and at the other Polling Places in the said District, on Thursday, the twelfth (12th) day of November next, the voting to commence at any time after nine o'clock in the forenoon of the said day, and to close at four o'clock in the afternoon of the said day.

Dated at the Resident Magistrate's Court, at Wellington, this seventh day of October, One thousand eight hundred and fifty-seven.

TO WIT.

WHEREAS A WRIT under the hand of His Excellency THOMAS GORE BROWNE, Commander of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over the Islands of New Zealand, &c., &c., and under the Public Seal of the Colony of New Zealand, bearing date the tenth day of August One thousand eight hundred and fifty-seven, hath been directed to me, HENRY ST HILL, ESQUIRE, Returning Officer for the "Hutt District," requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by the Voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently, and in manner and form by Law prescribed Five legally qualified persons to serve as Members for the "Hutt District" in the Provincial Council of the Province of Wellington.

NOW THEREFORE I, the said HENRY ST. HILL, Returning Officer for the Hutt District, do hereby, in pursuance of the said Writ, give Notice, that a Public Meeting of the Electors of the "Hutt District" will be holden at the Mechanics' Institute, situate at the Hutt, on Friday the Sixth (6th) day of November next, at noon, for the purpose of nominating Five persons to serve as Members for the Hutt District in the said Provincial Council; and in the event of a Poll being demanded for the Candidates, or any of them, such Polling shall take place at the Mechanics' Institute, aforesaid, and at the other Polling Places in the said District, on Monday, the ninth (9th) day of November next; the voting to commence at any time after nine o'clock in the forenoon of the said day, and to close at four o'clock in the afternoon of the said day.
