NOTE.β€”The distances in the accompanying Table were measured near High Water Mark, and not by the track followed by travellers, which, though somewhat shorter in most cases, is never materially so, except in that part between Pukarori and Pahaoa, which, by the travellers\' road, does not, I think, exceed 3 1/2 miles. The distance measured near high water mark as given in the Table being 4 miles 43 chains.
