All Public Notifications which appear in this Gazette, with any Official Signature hereunto annexed, are to be considered as Official communications made to those persons to whom they may relate, and are to be obeyed accordingly.

PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor ISAAC EARL FEATHERSTON, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington.

WHEREAS by an Act (number (8) eight,) of the third session of the Provincial Council of Wellington, intituled "An Act to amend and consolidate the law relating to Cattle Trespass and Impounding," it is among other things enacted, That it shall be lawful for the Superintendent by Proclamation to declare certain districts to be pastoral districts, and that the said act, or any clauses thereof which he may specify, shall not apply therein :

Therefore I, the said Isaac Earl Featherston, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in virtue of the power vested in me by the said hereinbefore mentioned act, Do hereby PROCLAIM and DECLARE, that the portion of the Province of Wellington, lying between the Ruahine and the Tararua Mountains, and the Coast Eastward, (except the places hereinafter mentioned,) shall be a pastoral district for the purposes of the said act; the excepted places being,

The Town and Township of Napier,

The Small Farm Settlements of Masterton and Greytown,

And the Town and Township of Featherston.

And I, the said Superintendent, do further PROCLAIM and DECLARE, that the clauses hereinbefore specified shall not be applicable to or within the pastoral districts before proclaimed; such clauses being,

Clauses No. 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12 and 13.

Given under my hand, and issued under the public Seal of the Province of Wellington, at Wellington, this third day of April, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-six.

NOTICE is hereby given, that
MR. CHARLES GEORGE HEWSON,
of Otaki, has duly qualified as a Medical Practitioner under the Act of the Provincial Council, passed on the 14th of January, 1854, intituled, "An Act to establish a Medical Board, and to declare who shall be deemed a qualified Medical Practitioner within the Province."
