PROCLAMATION.
By His HONOR ISAAC EARL FEATHERSTON, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in the Islands of New Zealand.
WHEREAS by an Act of the Provincial Council of Wellington, Session III. No. VI, intituled \"Thistle Amendment Act,\" it is enacted that the Superintendent may, whenever it shall appear to him expedient, by Proclamation declare, that the said Act shall come into operation within any Districts, and by the same Proclamation may declare the limits thereof, and it is thereby provided that such Act should not apply to any Aboriginal Natives except in such Districts and to such extent as the Superintendent might from time to time by Proclamation declare :
Now therefore, I, ISAAC EARL FEATHERSTON, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, by and with the advice of my Executive Council, do hereby proclaim that from and after the first day of March, now next, the said Act shall be in force within the Districts hereinafter specified. That is to say :β
1st. The District of the City of Wellington, as defined for Electoral purposes in a Proclamation issued by His Excellency Governor Sir George Grey, dated the fifth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-three, (to include Aboriginal Natives).
2nd. The Hutt District, defined as aforesaid (to include Aboriginal Natives).
3rd. So much of the Wellington Country District defined as aforesaid, as lies to the Southward of a line running due East from Paikakariki, on the West Coast, (to include Aboriginal Natives).
4th. The Wanganui and Rangitikei Districts, defined as aforesaid (not to include Aboriginal Natives, nor any lands held under pastoral Licenses from the Crown).
5th. Wairarapa and Hawke\'s Bay Districts, defined as aforesaid, (not to include Aboriginal Natives nor any lands held under pastoral Licenses from the Crown).
Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Wellington, at Wellington, this Sixteenth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-six.
