I. E. FEATHERSTON, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, by and with the advice of my Executive Council, DO hereby proclaim that from and after the first day of September now next, the Enactments with reference to offences against the Board and Roads contained in the Act of the Provincial Council, Session I., No. 21, comprising Clauses thereof 88 to 102 inclusive, shall be in force with respect to the High Road between the Town of Wellington and Petoni.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Wellington, at Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of July, One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty-five.

PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor ISAAC EARL FEATHERSTON, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in the Islands of New Zealand.

WHEREAS by an Act passed in the Provincial Council of the Province of Wellington, Session I., No. 21, entitled "An Act for the making, maintaining, repairing, and management of Country Roads, within the Province of Wellington," it is among other things enacted that the Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, shall from time to time as he shall deem fit by Proclamation declare the Districts within which rates upon Land shall be levied for the making, maintenance, repair, and improvement of the Highways, then and thereafter to be made therein, and the boundaries of such Districts, and also from time to time as occasion may require shall alter such boundaries.

AND WHEREAS by a Proclamation given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Wellington, the 1st day of June, 1854, the District of Karori as within which Rates upon Land should be levied for the purposes of the said Act,

And Whereas it is expedient to alter the Boundaries of the said District of Karori.

NOW THEREFORE, I, I. E. FEATHERSTON, the Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, do hereby Declare and Proclaim that the Boundaries of the District of Karori for the purposes of the said Act of Council, Session I., No. 21, shall be as follows:

North—The Southern boundary of the Ohariu District as laid down in the Government Plans from the junction thereof with the Porirua District as far as Section No. 79, in the Ohariu, and thence along the Southern boundary line of Sections Nos. 79 and 76, Ohariu, to the Coast.

East—The Western boundary line of Section, 1, and 2, Porirua District; and the Western boundary line of the Kai Warra Warra, and the Ohiro Districts and Town Belt; and South and West the Coast.

And I do also declare that such land within the said district as shall belong to any aboriginal native shall be excepted from the rate.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of July, One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty-five.

HIS HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT has been pleased to appoint

MR. JOSEPH ANGELL,

to be a Special Constable for the Porirua Road, the appointment to date from the 10th April, 1855.

ALL salaries will be paid on the 1st of each month. The abstracts must be sent in two clear days before the 1st or payment will be postponed till the following month.

All contingencies will be paid on the 12th of each month. The abstracts must be sent in on or before the 8th of each month, or payment will be postponed till the following month. These rules will be inflexibly adhered to.
