Land Sales and Committee Appointments




Waingawa river; towards the East by the Ruamohanga river; towards the South by the Waiohne river; and towards the West by the boundary of the Tauherenikau block. Excepting a Small Farms Reserve on each side of the road from Greytown to Masterton; and excepting also certain Native Reserves, amounting to about 600 acres.

Estimated contents, 37,000 acres.

2.—PART OF BIDWELL’S RUN.

Bounded towards the North by the boundary of the Tauherenikau block, to a point about two miles south of Mr. Morrison’s Road, thence Eastward to the Ruamohanga river, thence by the Ruamahanga to the Race Course; thence inland South-westerly to a stream at the base of the hills, and along that stream to a point about one mile north of Mr. Bidwell’s house; thence North-Westerly across to Tauherenikau boundary.

Estimated contents, 6000 acres.

3.—KAHUTARA.

Bounded towards the North by a line from the mouth of the Tauherenikau river, to a point in the bush, about 50 chains South-west of Mr. Bidwell’s house; thence South-westerly at a distance varying from a quarter of a mile to a mile from the Ruamuhanga river, to a point on that river, about two miles above its entrance to the lake; thence to the lake northerly and along its margin to the Tauherenikau.

Estimated contents, 15,000 acres.

It is to be understood that the Government reserves the right of altering or correcting the above general description, when the native boundaries have been examined on the ground; and also reserves the right of making all necessary Public Reserves, which will be shown in the plan on the 1st of May.

NOTICE.

In reference to the Sale of Crown Lands at Napier, Hawke’s Bay, published in Gazette, No. 1, 1855, Notice is hereby given, that (considerable additional improvements having been made upon some of the Sections, and the value of others having greatly increased since the preparation of the published Schedule,) the upset prices of the undermentioned allotments will be the sums set opposite to the number of such Lots respectively in the Schedule hereunto appended.
