NOTICE.

Election of Coroner for the Wellington District, Province of Wellington.

WHEREAS a writ under the Hand of ISAAC EARL FEATHERSTON, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, and under the Public Seal of the said Province, bearing date the seventeenth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-five, directed to me HENRY ST. HILL, Esq., Sheriff of the District of Wellington in the said Province, requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by, and from amongst, the voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently, and in manner and form by law prescribed, one person to serve as Coroner for the WELLINGTON DISTRICT in the said Province.

NOW THEREFORE, I, the said HENRY ST. HILL, Esq., Sheriff, as aforesaid, do hereby, in pursuance of the said Writ, give notice that a Public Meeting of the electors of the Wellington District aforesaid, will be held at the Resident Magistrate’s Court at Wellington aforesaid on Tuesday the twenty-fifth day of September, instant, at nine o’clock in the forenoon, for the election of a fit and proper person to hold the office of Coroner for the Wellington District aforesaid; and in the event of a poll being demanded for the candidates or any of them, such polling to commence at ten o’clock in the forenoon of the said day, and to close at four o’clock in the afternoon, of the said day.

Dated at the Sheriff’s Office, Wellington, this seventeenth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-five.

Election of Coroner for the Porirua District.—Province of Wellington.

WHEREAS, a Writ, under the Hand of ISAAC EARL FEATHERSTON, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, and under the Public Seal of the said Province, bearing date the seventeenth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-five, directed to me, HENRY ST. HILL, Esq., Sheriff of the District of Wellington, in the said Province, requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by, and from amongst, the voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently, and in manner and form by law prescribed, one person to serve as Coroner for the PORIRUA DISTRICT, in the said Province.

NOW, therefore, I, the said HENRY ST. HILL, Esq., Sheriff, as aforesaid, do hereby, in pursuance of the said writ, give notice that a public meeting of the Electors of the Porirua District, will be held at the Half-way House, on the Porirua Road, in the aforesaid district, on Wednesday, the twenty-sixth day of September instant, for the election of a fit and proper person to hold the office of Coroner for the Porirua District aforesaid; and, in the event of a poll being demanded for the Candidates, or any of them, such polling to commence at ten o’clock in the forenoon of the said day, and to close at four o’clock in the afternoon of the said day.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a Pound has been erected on Section 41, (near the house of Mr. Pilcher), on the Porirua Road, and that His Honor the Superintendent has appointed the same to be a Public Pound for the Porirua District.

NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN, that His Honor the Superintendent has been pleased to appoint

JOSEPH ANGEL,

Keeper of such Pound.
