NOTICE.
PROVINCIAL COUNCIL OF THE PROVINCE OF WELLINGTON.
Election of One Member for the "Wellington Country District."

to Wit.
WHEREAS, a Writ under the hand of His Honor Isaac Earl Featherston, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, and under the public seal of the said Province, bearing date the twenty-seventh day of October, in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and Fifty-four, directed to me, Henry St. Hill, Esquire, as Returning Officer for the "Wellington Country District," requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by and amongst the voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently, and in manner and form by law prescribed, one person to serve as a Member for the "Wellington Country District" in the Provincial Council of the Province of Wellington aforesaid, in the place of Robert Waitt, Esquire, who has resigned his seat in the said Council.
Now, therefore, I, the said Henry St. Hill, Esquire, Resident Magistrate and Returning Officer for the "Wellington Country District," do hereby, in pursuance of the said Writ, give notice that a Public Meeting of the Electors of the "Wellington Country District" will be holden at the wharf and store commonly called "Noah's Ark" situate on Lambton Quay, Wellington, on Monday, the 27th day of November next, at twelve o'clock in the forenoon, for the purpose of nominating one person to serve as a Member for the "Wellington Country District" in the Provincial Council of the said Province in the place of Robert Waitt, Esquire: and in the event of a Poll being demanded for the candidates or any of them, such polling shall take place at such Wharf and Store aforesaid, on Wednesday, the 29th day of November next, the voting to commence at any time after nine o'clock in the forenoon of the said day, and to close at four o'clock in the afternoon of the said day.

WHEREAS, Writs under the hand of His Honor Isaac Earl Featherston, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, and under the public seal of the said Province, bearing date each the twenty-seventh day of October, in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and Fifty-four, directed to me, Henry St. Hill, Esquire, as Returning Officer for the City of Wellington, requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by and amongst the voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently, and in manner and form by law prescribed, two persons to serve as Members for the "City of Wellington" in the Provincial Council of the Province of Wellington aforesaid, viz.: one person in the place of George Moore, Esquire, who has undertaken a contract for or on account of the public service, and one other person in the place of John Dorset, Esquire, who has accepted an office of emolument under the Superintendent of the said Province.
