EXTENDING BOUNDARIES OF THE TOWN OF CARLYLE.
NORMANBY, Governor.
Whereas a town hath been surveyed and laid out near the mouth of the Patea River, in the Province of Taranaki, and officially designated as Carlyle: And whereas it is expedient for public purposes that the said Town of Carlyle should be extended :
Now therefore, I, the Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of all powers and authorities in me vested in that behalf, do hereby authorise the extension of the boundaries of the said Town of Carlyle, so as to include the lands specified in the Schedule hereto, as the said boundaries are delineated upon the plan deposited in the office of the Secretary for Crown Lands, authenticated for the purpose of this notice by the signature of the Officer in Charge of Confiscated Lands, West Coast District.
SCHEDULE.
Suburban Sections to be included in the Town of Carlyle, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 65, 66, 71, 72.
The boundaries of the Town of Carlyle, including the extension authorised above, are as follows:—Towards the North and East by the Patea River; towards the South by waste land; towards the West by Suburban Sections numbered 50, 51, 52, and 53; and towards the North-west by Suburban Sections numbered 39, 38, 37, 36, and by a Government reserve.
Given under the hand of his Excellency the Most Honorable George Augustus Constantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and Baron Mulgrave, all in the County of York, in the Peerage of the United Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave of New Ross, in the County of Wexford, in the Peerage of Ireland; a member of Her Majesty's Most Honorable Privy Council, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.
