NOTICE TO PUBLICANS.

Treasury, New Plymouth,
27th February, 1874.

ALL persons desirous of obtaining New Licenses or the Renewal of existing Licenses, either in town or country districts, must send to the Clerk of the Resident Magistrate on or before Tuesday next, 3rd March, an application in the form prescribed by the "Licensing Act, 1873," of the General Assembly.

RESERVE FOR A SITE FOR A CEMETERY.

WHEREAS by the Regulations for the sale and disposal of lands taken under the authority of "The New Zealand Settlements Act, 1863," and "The New Zealand Settlements Amendment and Continuance Act, 1865," contained in the Schedule to an Order in Council made and issued, bearing date the 11th day of May, 1871, it is provided that reserves for roads and all other public purposes whatever, and for education, and the sites for churches and chapels or other places of worship for different religious denominations, may be made by Government out of any confiscated lands, and that notices of all such reserves shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette: It is hereby notified, that the land specified in the Schedule hereunder written shall be reserved for the purposes therein mentioned and set opposite the description of the said parcel of land.

PROVINCE OF TARANAKI.
Waitara District.
All that parcel of land situated in the Township of Raleigh West, containing by admeasurement 29 poles more or less, being portion of Block CXVII., having a frontage of 120 links to McLean-street, and extending back in a rectangular section 150 links in depth; the north-west corner of the said section being distant from the north-west corner of the said Block CXVII. 175 links. Cemetery.

DECLARING DISTRICTS UNDER "NATIVE LAND ACT, 1873."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this eighteenth day of February, 1874.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Native Land Act, 1873," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council from time to time to divide the Colony into districts for the purposes set forth in the said Act, and the limits of such districts from time to time to alter as occasion may require:

Now therefore, I, Sir James Fergusson, Baronet, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Colony, and in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said in part recited Act, do hereby order and declare that the Colony shall be divided into districts for the purposes of the said Act, as such are respectively defined in the Schedule hereunder written.

SCHEDULE.

TARANAKI.

This district comprises all that portion of the Province of Taranaki which lies to the southward of a right line drawn from Paranihinihi to the south-western corner of the Bay of Plenty District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by "The Licensing Act, 1873," it is, amongst other things, enacted that the Governor shall, as soon as conveniently may be after the passing of the said Act, by Proclamation in the Government Gazette, define such territorial divisions as he may think proper to be Licensing Districts for the purposes of the said Act, and from time to time may alter and re-define the boundaries of the same: And whereas it is also further enacted by the said Act, that in the Proclamation declaring the said several districts the Governor shall in each case declare the number of persons of whom the Licensing Court of such district shall consist, such number not being more than seven nor less than three:
