NOTICE
APPOINTING COLLECTORS OF TOLLS FOR
THE HENUI TOLL GATE ON THE NORTH
ROAD, AND FOR THE WHALER’S GATE
TOLL GATE ON THE SOUTH ROAD, AND
GIVING NOTICE OF THE DATE ON WHICH
TOLLS WILL BE TAKEN AT THE SAID
GATES.

IN exercise of the authority vested in the Superintendent by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council, intituled “An Ordinance to authorise the erection of Toll Bars and levying Tolls within the Province of Taranaki,” Session XVI., No. 6, I, FREDERIC ALONZO CARRINGTON, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, do hereby appoint William Henwood to be Collector of Tolls at the Henui Toll Gate, on the North Road, and Thomas Mace to be Collector of Tolls at the Whaler’s Gate Toll Gate, on the South Road, both appointments to take effect from the 6th day of June, 1870.

And I further notify that the said Gates will be closed and Tolls taken thereat on the scale laid down in the above recited Ordinance and a further Ordinance, intituled “An Ordinance to amend the ‘Turnpike Ordinance, 1868,’” on and after MONDAY, the 6th day of June, 1870.
