ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this sixth day of March, 1869.

Present:
His EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Colonial Forces Courts Martial Act, 1868," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council from time to time to fix the number of officers of which General Courts-Martial, District Courts-Martial, and Regimental or Detachment Courts-Martial respectively, to be convened by any officer authorized by the Governor under the said Act as therein mentioned, shall consist; and that any such Court-Martial convened by any officer so authorized as aforesaid shall respectively consist of the number of officers fixed by the Order in Council made under the said Act for the time being in force;

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in pursuance and in exercise of the power and authority for that purpose vested in him, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Colony, doth hereby order that the number of officers of which General Courts-Martial, District Courts-Martial, and Regimental or Detachment Courts-Martial respectively, convened by any such officer authorized by the Governor as aforesaid, shall consist, shall be as follows, that is to say β€”

General Courts-Martial shall consist of not less than five officers.

District Courts-Martial shall consist of not less than five officers.

Regimental or Detachment Courts-Martial shall consist of not less than three officers.
