NOTICE

Publishing names of Commissioners and Auditors elected, and the rates per acre imposed, at the General Meetings of the 12th, 14th, and 16th Road Districts.

Superintendent’s Office,
New Plymouth, May 16, 1866.

IT is hereby notified, for general information, that at General Meetings of the 12th, 14th, and 16th Districts, constituted under the “Roads and Bridges Ordinance, 1858,” which were duly held in accordance with the provisions of the said Ordinance, the persons whose names appear in the following schedule, opposite the numbers of the said Districts respectively, were duly elected Commissioners and Auditors respectively for the said Districts for the year 1866-7, and that the Rates placed opposite to the numbers of the said Districts in the said Schedule, were duly imposed on all lands within the said Districts respectively:—

WHEREAS in the Fourteenth Session of the Provincial Council of Taranaki, held in the twenty-ninth year of the reign of her Majesty Queen Victoria, an Ordinance was passed intituled the “Provincial Council Ordinance, 1865,” and whereas the said Ordinance was, on the 4th day of April, 1866, presented to me for the assent of his Excellency the Governor, and was then reserved by me for the signification of his Excellency’s pleasure thereon, and whereas his Excellency has been pleased to assent to the said Ordinance. Now I do hereby proclaim that his Excellency Sir George Grey, the Governor of New Zealand, has been pleased to assent to the said Ordinance, and that I received the signification of his Excellency’s assent on the 14th day of May, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six.

Given under my hand at New Plymouth, this Sixteenth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six.
