FERRIES ORDINANCE, 1855.
NOTICE
Establishing Urenui Ferry and fixing Ferry Dues.
Superintendent’s Office,
New Plymouth, May 15, 1866.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Taranaki intituled “An Ordinance to establish and regulate Ferries,” and passed in the second session of the said Council, power is given to the Superintendent, with the approval of the said Council, from time to time, by notice published in the Government Gazette of the province, to establish Ferries at such places within the province as he may deem expedient, and to fix the dues to be taken at any such Ferry.
Now therefore I, Henry Robert Richmond, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, do hereby, in accordance with a resolution of the Provincial Council of the 24th April, 1866, establish the Ferry over the Urenui River at the Urenui Township, as a Ferry under the provisions of the above-recited Ordinance, and I hereby further notify that the dues taken at the said Ferry shall be at the rates hereunder specified, viz:—
Each passenger ... 6d.
Horses or neat cattle (towed), each ... 6d.
Calves (carried), each ... 6d.
Sheep—
Not exceeding 4, for the whole ... 4d.
Over 4 and not exceeding 100, each ... 1d.
Above 100, each ... 0½d.

NOTICE
Appointing places for Exposing Cattle for Public Inspection.

New Plymouth, May 14, 1866.
In exercise of the power vested in the Superintendent by the said Ordinance entitled “Cattle Ordinance, 1865,” I do hereby declare that I have appointed the places below specified to be places at which cattle shall be exposed for public inspection in accordance with the provisions of the said Ordinance:—
The Stockyard on J. R. Lawson’s land, Lower Mangorei.
The Stockyard on W. Devenish’s land, Lower Mangorei, situated in the clearing and at a short distance from Mangorei Road.

NOTICE
Appointing Public Pound on Section No. 35, Omata District (formerly J. Hurford’s land), and fixing scale of Pound Fees, and of Charges for Food.

In exercise of the power vested in me by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of Taranaki, intituled “An Ordinance to authorise and regulate the Impounding of Cattle, and to provide for the summary recovery of compensation for damage done by cattle trespassing,” Sess. 1, No. 8, I, Henry Robert Richmond, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, do hereby notify that I have appointed the place below specified to be a Public Pound for the purposes of the said Ordinance:—
The Stockyard on Section No. 35, Omata District.
And I do hereby further notify that the Pound Fees taken and charged at the said Pound shall be according to the scale published in the Government Gazette of the Province—No. 34, December 21, 1865.
